About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide safe, accurate, and efficient patient care, including patient assessment, lab and vital-sign review, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents
- Follow Oncology Nursing Society standards and guidelines
- Dispose of biohazardous waste according to OSHA and NIOSH guidelines
- Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment plans
- Perform ongoing patient assessment and support
- Document treatment accurately and timely in the EMR
- Capture appropriate charges for medication administration and activities
- Perform telephone triage and prioritize patient, family, hospital, nursing facility, pharmacy, and physician-office calls
- Assist with medical-supply inventory and restocking
- Complete required safety and nursing training and attend mandatory staff meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information
- Assist in training new employees according to job breakdown instructions
- Work at any Company location as needed and work overtime with sufficient notice
- Perform other assigned duties and projects
- Comply with applicable laws and Company policies and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Nursing Degree
- Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi-state license
- Current CPR and BLS certifications
- Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
- Ability to assess patient needs and condition
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
- EMR proficiency
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
- Ability to work remotely effectively as required
- Willingness to travel less than 25%
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts based on operational needs
