About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure accurate and timely review and evaluation of Collections documentation
  • Take appropriate actions to control associated product as necessary
  • Maintain quality and regulatory standards affecting donor and patient safety
  • Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to volunteers
  • Review and correct electronic and manual donor collections operations documents
  • Assist with donor and patient safety issues related to review results
  • Evaluate discrepancies, conduct initial investigations, and manage suspect products
  • Make corrections according to defined procedures
  • Document discrepancies and forward them to staff responsible for investigation and follow-up
  • Contribute to corrective actions through functional work groups and management feedback
  • Contact donors, DCSC, and other internal and external customers
  • Foster teamwork to enhance operational success
  • Maintain confidentiality and resolve difficult situations professionally

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of data processing, medical records, auditing and quality review experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
  • Previous donor center experience, medical experience or quality background preferred
  • Proficiency with computer desktop applications
  • Ability to type with speed and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Document management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Detail oriented with strong math skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify, resolve and escalate issues if necessary
  • Tact, diplomacy and professionalism in difficult situations
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to work on a team
  • May be required to travel
  • Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time
  • Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable needs
