About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the mobile blood drive team and drive results through excellent customer service
- Coach, mentor, instruct, and serve as a resource for blood collection staff
- Model professionalism and compassion as an ambassador to the public
- Work as lead/charge at mobile blood drives in the community
- Conduct phlebotomy and blood collection duties
- Work independently with attention to detail and knowledge of daily operations
- Ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements
- Set up and tear down equipment for mobile blood drives
- Work a variable schedule, including possible early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience (18 months to four years of work experience in a related field) is required
- Minimum 1 year leadership experience in environments with public interaction required
- Phlebotomy experience is required
- Customer service experience, effective verbal communication and public relations skills are required
- A current valid driver's license and a good driving record is required
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to safely operate Red Cross vehicles
- Basic computer skills are required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) preferred
- Prior leadership experience in healthcare settings preferred
