About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with every step of the blood collection process at fixed site locations
  • Collaborate with the team to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors
  • Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations delivered to hospitals
  • Personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donations
  • Ensure collected blood meets goals and regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused
  • Work variable schedules, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associates degree OR a combination of education and work experience is required
  • Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting is required
  • Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required
  • Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
