About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective regional individual donors
  • Build and deepen relationships with donors throughout the Denver area and Western Colorado
  • Partner with the local fundraising team to design and execute regional donor strategies
  • Collaborate with fundraising colleagues and internal partners on customized solicitation strategies
  • Manage and solicit an assigned donor portfolio through in-person visits and virtual meetings
  • Prepare personalized proposals and donor materials
  • Achieve annual revenue goals through donor cultivation and stewardship
  • Lead and implement a major gift strategy for donors giving $10,000 or more
  • Maintain donor records, activity tracking, and portfolio management in Salesforce
  • Connect donor passions with the American Red Cross life-saving mission
  • Participate in disaster relief fundraising efforts as needed
  • Drive to other locations and provide transportation for business purposes or use a Red Cross fleet vehicle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Advanced degree highly desirable
  • Minimum 7 years of sales and/or fundraising experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office preferred
  • Knowledge of fundraising database systems such as Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce.com
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team
  • Highest customer service orientation
  • Current valid driver's license and good driving record required
  • Frequent travel within the Denver area; travel to western Colorado 1–2 times per year and Wyoming 1–2 times per year may be required
  • Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods
  • Ability to drive a vehicle and work under challenging conditions when needed
