About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create and oversee ASCO and Conquer Cancer brand strategy and priorities
- Set brand guidelines, brand vision, future growth direction, and account for environmental influences
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders and develop brand ambassadors through ongoing brand education
- Partner with content strategy staff and marketing strategists on campaign direction and creative asset development
- Guide design according to brand guidelines and design best practices
- Drive brand positioning for new programs and products, including product naming, identifiers, and creative guides
- Translate marketing objectives into creative strategies and guide visual campaign execution
- Directly produce design assets for high-visibility projects
- Develop and manage accessible brand templates and self-service toolkits
- Serve as primary creative reviewer and provide final brand approval for high-visibility multimedia campaigns
- Contribute to operational guardrails, copyright compliance, and ethical standards for generative AI tools
- Manage onboarding and relationships with outside firms and consult on digital and print deliverables
- Conduct visual and message-compliance audits and remediate brand drift
- Partner with IT on the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), ensuring assets are organized, updated, and adopted
- Monitor industry design and brand storytelling trends and bring fresh ideas to marketing and communications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Brand Management, Strategic Communications or related field or equivalent years of experience
- 7+ years of Marketing experience including branding, storytelling, and messaging
- 3–4 years of experience leading complex programs or providing high-level strategic support within a professional discipline
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite programs and Canva
- Experience working with a digital asset management system (DAMS)
- Hands-on experience working with content management systems
- Experience directing the work of external vendors
- Willingness to embrace and adapt to new technology
- Ability to apply brand strategy across integrated, multi-channel campaigns
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, relationship building, time management, organizational, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work across teams/divisions/departments
- Extended periods seated or standing at a desk
- High use of computer and other office technology equipment
- Travel 5–10 days/year
