About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Attain deposit and loan growth objectives
- Execute sales production efforts to identify and acquire new business within the market area
- Make sales calls and visit business customers, high net worth individuals, and prospects
- Customize solutions to meet loan, deposit, and service needs
- Provide leadership to grow the Commercial Relationship Team
- Identify business development opportunities and make sales calls to existing clients and prospects
- Maintain product quality, profitability, and growth through appropriate pricing and fees
- Service a client portfolio and act as a banking consultant
- Apply need-based sales techniques to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships
- Maintain and service a large deposit portfolio, emphasizing low-cost deposit acquisition
- Maintain and service a loan portfolio of $90MM or more
- Collect and analyze customer and prospect financials and relevant data
- Assess viability, determine cash flow, and perform ongoing credit grade determinations
- Identify and structure large, complex loan and deposit opportunities
- Assess credit risk and profitability of complex opportunities
- Prepare and present information to the Loan Committee for approval
- Oversee portfolio quality control, documentation, compliance, and collection efforts
- Maintain knowledge of banking products, programs, services, and promotions
- Use Customer Relationship Management systems to track sales efforts and prospects
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies
- Represent the Bank in business development, networking, and community functions
- Collaborate with other lines of business to attain mutual goals and serve customers
- Practice ethical sales behaviors aligned with Ameris Bank’s core values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 8 years of Commercial Banking experience or related field
- Experience in leadership role preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and related training or experience is required
- Ability to analyze markets, identify prospects, and execute consultative, value-added sales techniques and strategies
- Ability to meet and exceed established targets
- Ability to negotiate, drive consensus, address identified needs, provide interactive service, build and maintain collaborative relationships, and manage and resolve conflict
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan, schedule, and organize a professional schedule to achieve strategic goals
- Ability to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw conclusions, present findings, and make recommendations considering risk and impact
- Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency
- Knowledge of regulatory banking compliance policies and procedures
- Knowledge of cost accounting, financial analysis, and credit principles
- Knowledge of internal banking policies, procedures, products and services
- Knowledge of relevant geographic market
