About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop features and fixes for Chamber application software on embedded Linux, with guidance from senior engineers
  • Learn and contribute to software communicating with hardware over serial and bus protocols
  • Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews
  • Take part in quality assurance to help keep Chamber software reliable
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues, escalating when needed
  • Assist with maintenance of early-generation Chamber software
  • Contribute to frontend work as needed
  • Collaborate with hardware, operations, and customer experience teammates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, C, C++, JavaScript, or similar) and willingness to learn others
  • Comfort working in Linux environments and on the command line
  • Experience with version control (Git)
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and testing practices
  • 1 to 4+ years of professional software experience
  • Degree or coursework in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent self-taught experience is a nice to have
  • Personal or open-source projects that touch hardware, Linux, or systems programming are a nice to have
  • Prior internship or early-career role in embedded systems, IoT, or backend development is a nice to have
