Key responsibilities & impact

Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment
Perform inspections to detect discontinuities, defects, flaws, or anomalies using NDT methods
Follow inspection procedures and safety regulations when examining components
Perform testing according to procedures or standards and evaluate results
Collect, organize, and electronically report inspection results
Communicate and interface with customers and management
Perform specialized inspections
Maintain rolls/components requiring inspection within shop inventory
May instruct and supervise others

Requirements

What you’ll need

Training background in NDT methods and procedures, knowledge of equipment / effectively perform NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required
Excellent communication skills including correct basic grammar, spelling, punctuation
Ability to safely carry out oral and written work instructions
Strong work ethic, dependable and strong attention to detail
Exceptional safety and quality awareness
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, welding machines, and manual/remote controlled devices using radio signals
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, ascend/descend stairs, maneuver within tight spaces, and potentially lift in excess of 50 lbs
Visual acuity and color vision, manual dexterity, ability to endure long hours, and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment
