About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Remain continually on the work site during project progress
Direct specified work and provide complete, correct direction of installation work
Be present during erection and oversee initial starting and subsequent equipment operation until field tests are completed
Follow safety procedures and initiate instructions to inspect, handle, assemble, and test equipment
Hire and manage site labor and site subcontractors
Manage labor hours allocated to the project
Manage site costs and inventories
Act as primary contact to the union dispatcher when applicable
Manage the supervision team
Manage the site schedule and provide feedback to the project manager/scheduler
Manage health, safety, and environmental matters
Prepare site logs using ANDRITZ tools and procedures
Conduct daily toolbox meetings
Complete punch-list items
Manage customer relations on site
Manage claims and change orders and maintain documentation of site conditions
Adhere to customer and ANDRITZ work-site requirements
Assist with project cost control, cost recovery, administration, and project execution
Report project status to in-office project managers
Report problems and required resolution actions to the manager
Complete periodic reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5 years engaged in similar turbine and generator field work
Experience working on large, complex construction projects
Proven experience with steel structures, welding, and masonry
Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations, quality plans and procedures, and general construction practices
Proven leadership skills, effective communicator, and adept in maintaining client relationships
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and standard office equipment
Experience in claims management is a plus
OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 Certification
Contractors Construction Quality Management course Certification from Naval Facilities Engineering Command or Army Corps of Engineers
Knowledge in OSHA and ISO Standards
Able to read engineering drawings and procedures
Ability to read and understand contract requirements
Ability to identify non-conformances and organize the work
Use of LMS, QCS and other Site related Software
Fluent spoken and written English
Must be willing to travel and live extended periods of time in distant locations
Must be able to work overtime as needed
