Key responsibilities & impact

Own the hub-and-spoke contract between the cloud and on-prem failover edge nodes
Ensure on-prem nodes mirror cloud architecture at small scale and operate through DDIL conditions
Reconcile edge nodes with the hub upon reconnection
Extend centralized Keycloak/LDAP identity to disconnected edge nodes
Implement cached-credential authentication and propagate RBAC by operation/group to spokes
Own cloud-to-edge data refresh and state consistency, including DSB migration, entity-persist service, CoTv2 bilateral consistency, and un-egress republishing cache
Automate propagation of cloud architecture changes to edge NixOS closures
Define and test failover/reconnect behavior against the High-Availability/DDIL ConOps
Set technical direction for the sub-team and mentor ICs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret / SCI Clearance
Software background is mandatory
Strong in a systems language (Go/Rust/Python)
Knowledge of distributed-systems fundamentals, including consensus, conflict resolution, and eventual consistency
Cloud architecture depth, with GCP preferred, including VPC, IdP, and networking
Comfort with on-prem and bare-metal deployments at the edge
Willingness to travel as needed
Demonstrated ownership of a reliability/SRE or platform-engineering charter preferred
