About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and manage mechanical casting commodities/subcategories to execute supplier production strategies from NPI through full production
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies with internal engineering, quality, supply chain, manufacturing teams, and suppliers
  • Vet supplier production capabilities, factory layouts, facilities, and workforce for Approved Supplier List inclusion
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineers in ensuring supplier adherence to part-quality criteria
  • Bring up new production tooling and lines at supplier sites
  • Own supplier capacity expansion readiness and production ramp-up
  • Establish and drive statistical process control (SPC) reviews at suppliers
  • Identify and drive product and process improvements, factory-layout optimization, cost reduction, supply-risk reduction, defect elimination, and cycle-time improvements
  • Support root-cause task forces and close corrective/preventive actions at suppliers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
  • 6+ years of experience in supplier quality and industrialization within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with mechanical casting manufacturing, IPC standards, CAD, and GD&T
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or another related industry
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and certifications
  • Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
  • Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
