About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead analysis and documentation of complex business and technical requirements
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for enterprise systems, enhancements, and integrations
- Evaluate solution options, dependencies, trade-offs, scalability, performance, risk, cost, and business needs
- Use SQL, backend data analysis, and application/database logs to validate behavior, investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and support defect resolution
- Liaise between business stakeholders, development, architecture, data, and infrastructure teams
- Lead and support system integrations involving APIs, event-driven architectures, file-based interfaces, middleware, ETL processes, and data exchanges
- Perform impact and dependency analysis for system, integration, and data changes
- Provide leadership during incident response and major defect resolution
- Develop and maintain technical and system documentation, workflows, data lineage, process flows, interface specifications, dependencies, and operational playbooks
- Lead and support UAT by developing test scenarios, validating backend results, confirming data integrity, documenting defects, and ensuring expected outcomes
- Partner with developers and engineers throughout the SDLC
- Support production releases and implementations, including data-load and integration validation, release-readiness assessment, monitoring, and critical-issue response
- Identify patterns in defects, data-quality issues, integration failures, and operational challenges and recommend improvements
- Mentor Technical Business Analysts and other team members
- Contribute to organizational standards, templates, tools, and analytical approaches
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline, or commensurate work experience, required
- 7 years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or closely related technical role, including complex enterprise systems and integrations, required
- Advanced SQL skills for querying complex relational databases for validation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and testing
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or comparable database management tools
- Experience with system integrations, APIs, data flows, backend processes, and enterprise applications
- Experience in Agile/Scrum software development environments and throughout the SDLC
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to independently manage complex analysis efforts while collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholder groups
- Availability to work outside core business hours, including nights and weekends, as needed for testing, upgrades, releases, and production implementations
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls; occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 20 pounds
