About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support to the Products and Services teams on welding-related activities and associated design requirements.
- Support material selection based on equipment design and functional requirements.
- Develop, maintain and improve welding specifications in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Review technical reports related to welding and heat treatment.
- Assess supplier deviation requests and non-conformance reports related to welding and heat treatment.
- Support internal manufacturing activities and provide technical expertise to operational teams.
- Contribute to cost reduction through material streamlining and harmonization of legacy specifications.
- Develop and implement new manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Maintain technical interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
- Collaborate with project teams to support project execution.
- Maintain technical relationships with manufacturing sites and component manufacturing suppliers.
- Capture and share lessons learned through technical reviews, supplier meetings and feedback reports.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to developing engineers.
- Support supplier improvement and supply chain development activities.
- Promote departmental expertise, company values and ethical standards.
- Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and internal procedures.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in welding engineering within an industrial environment.
- Good knowledge of welding processes, heat treatment technologies and metallic materials.
- Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to pressure equipment and/or the nuclear industry.
- Experience assessing technical non-conformances and supplier deviations.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to share expertise and support the development of less experienced engineers.
