About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Structure and facilitate short-term collaborative planning (6-week / 3-week / daily) with site managers and subcontractors.
  • Identify and remove operational constraints before they affect the construction site.
  • Optimize the supply of components at the point of use, the preparation of assembly kits, and intermediate storage.
  • Analyze the causes of daily on-site non-productivity and lead immediate corrective action plans.
  • Establish and facilitate field performance routines, visual progress management, and area-based performance indicators.
  • Deploy 5S standards adapted to nuclear-sector constraints, prevent foreign material exclusion (FME) incidents, and maintain safe work areas.
  • Train and coach site supervision teams and external partners in the fundamental principles of Lean Construction.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and productivity in construction, assembly, and heavy-equipment installation areas, particularly the turbine island and associated systems.
  • Work with supervisors, site managers, craft workers, and subcontractors to streamline flows, optimize task sequencing, minimize downtime, and meet the master schedule.

  • At least 10 years of experience managing or supervising major heavy-construction projects, such as power plants, petrochemical facilities, rail infrastructure, or naval projects.
  • Proven proficiency with sector-specific tools, including the Last Planner System, Takt Time Planning, construction-site Visual Management, and logistics Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Strong knowledge of the requirements applicable to nuclear construction sites, including quality assurance standards, rigorous traceability, and a “Zero Accident” safety culture.
  • Fluent in English and French, with the ability to lead site meetings and draft work procedures in both languages.
  • Ability to engage as an equal with site managers or project directors, supported by a strong technical understanding of construction.
  • Strong preference for direct field involvement (“boots on the ground”) rather than exclusively office-based work.
  • Ability to unite teams from subcontracting companies and diverse cultural backgrounds around a common performance objective.
  • Responsive to weather-related, technical, or logistical contingencies, with the ability to reorganize tasks optimally.
