About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain patterns during factory sampling and production stages, ensuring methods and documentation are consistent with factory methods and processes
  • Develop and maintain accurate finished garment measurement specifications each season
  • Ensure grading formulas on finished garment measurement specifications and templates are accurate and reproducible
  • Assist with graded production patterns and ensure grading of like products and documentation are completed on schedule
  • Minimize graded die sizes while maintaining design integrity and production practicality
  • Prepare offshore grading packages and communicate with factories
  • Establish and maintain computer pattern libraries and ensure factory graded patterns are current
  • Participate in graded size run checks
  • Build business relationships with Designers, Product Developers, Patternmakers, Sample Sewers, Technical Specialists, and Factory partners
  • Maintain communication with development teams regarding patterning, measuring, and technical construction methods
  • Establish standard fit/grade by product category and end use
  • Contribute to grading libraries, grading guides, and standard grades
  • Troubleshoot problems and maintain computer software and equipment
  • Set up and maintain computer grade table libraries
  • Support training and development of Patternmakers and Patternmaker Graders
  • Assist and coach Patternmaker Graders daily
  • Uphold the Fair Labour Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing
  • Assist with Clo 3D size set stitching and reviewing
  • Provide on-site grading training to factory partners
  • Support TCC and ALO office on pattern grading and pre-production approval

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years’ production grading and patternmaking experience, preferably within the outdoor industry
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, with a grading specialty
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and spoken communications skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, including accurate data entry
  • Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and seeking effective solutions
  • Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • Ability to effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • Ability to inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • Passion for getting outside and living it
  • Knowledge of Gerber AccuMark is an asset
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada
