About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Umbrella and Excess Liability accounts
Drive portfolio profitability and growth
Assess risks and negotiate participation, pricing, terms, and conditions
Own assigned broker portfolio and manage new and renewal accounts
Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, agents, and stakeholders
Provide training and development support to Underwriters and Senior Underwriters
Serve as specialized technical expert for Unsupported Umbrella and Excess Liability
Underwrite according to governance frameworks, authorities, guidelines, rules, and principles
Use global pricing tools and ensure accurate policy documentation
Maintain files for each risk and transaction
Manage complex referrals and re-underwrite complex business
Coordinate involvement of MMC, ARC, Claims, and Operations
Participate in cross-regional collaboration activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of experience in Underwriting profitable business in Umbrella & Excess
Specialized expert understanding of Liability products and portfolio
Recognized relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within marketplace
Specialized understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape, including global elements
Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework
Experience working in complex, global matrix organization
Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Umbrella & Excess Liability
Ability to analyze performance against benchmarks and understand market, business, and customer needs
Ability to design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings
Robust understanding of policy administration lifecycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation
Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Ability to analyze information and data and draw appropriate conclusions
Ability to manage multiple accounts, opportunities, and processes to meet deadlines
Preferably degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Mgmt, or Business Administration
Completion of professional insurance qualification preferred
