About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead earned media strategy and execution across a portfolio of technology clients
  • Immerse in clients, industries, products, and competitive landscapes to identify compelling stories
  • Develop creative pitch angles connected to business, technology, and cultural conversations
  • Pitch reporters, editors, and influential voices
  • Drive high-quality media coverage across business, technology, and industry trade outlets
  • Advise account teams and clients on media strategy, newsworthiness, timing, announcements, and the media landscape
  • Identify proactive, reactive, and rapid-response media opportunities
  • Counsel and prepare executives for interviews
  • Draft and edit pitches, press releases, bylines, media plans, briefing materials, and other media-facing content
  • Partner with senior media trainers on executive preparation and develop toward leading media trainings independently
  • Coach colleagues and junior staff on media strategy, pitching, reporter engagement, and storytelling
  • Lead or contribute to media brainstorms, reporter conversations, trainings, and agency-wide initiatives
  • Support new business through media research, audits, creative ideation, targeting, and pitch strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7–9+ years of preferred experience in public relations, communications, or media relations
  • Significant hands-on experience securing earned media coverage
  • Preferred prior agency experience
  • Experience supporting technology brands across AI, enterprise software, cybersecurity, infrastructure, startups, hardware, SaaS, or other complex B2B categories
  • Proven record of consistently landing meaningful coverage in business, technology, industry trade, and top-tier media
  • Excellent media instincts and editorial judgment
  • Ability to build relationships with reporters and influential voices
  • Persistence in pursuing media coverage
  • Ability to quickly learn complex businesses and technical subject matter
  • Strong client counsel and executive presence
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and workstreams with autonomy
  • Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues
  • Curious, proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Ability to use AI tools and emerging technology to improve writing, research, and content production efficiency
  • Ability to travel on a short-term basis for client and business demands
