About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create sector-leading digital learning experiences for an international student body
Design and build interactive digital modules with academic subject-matter experts
Transform complex curriculum concepts into intuitive digital pathways
Support the Faculty of Learning and Teaching
Drive the ongoing evolution of Arden University’s digital learning ecosystem
Collaborate with academic faculties, media producers, and quality assurance specialists
Lead storyboarding workshops and advise colleagues on teaching approaches
Develop and maintain digital learning materials
Manage and coordinate multi-stakeholder learning design projects
Deliver projects and outputs to agreed deadlines

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a digital learning designer
Preference for experience within a Higher Education setting
Experience designing and developing high-quality learning modules using diverse learning platforms and authoring tools
Deep understanding of pedagogical theories, systematic digital learning design approaches, and UX principles
Strong technical skill building interactive digital learning modules using Articulate Rise
Practical experience with various Learning Management Systems and Virtual Learning Environments
Knowledge of current accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
Ability to embed equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the learning design and development process
Ability to manage a demanding workload, work at pace, and deliver projects and outputs to agreed deadlines
Ability to lead storyboarding workshops and advise colleagues on sound teaching approaches
Proven experience working with academics and subject-matter experts to develop and maintain digital materials
Experience managing and coordinating multi-stakeholder projects
Passionate interest in learning design and pedagogy, with ability to enthuse and motivate others
Ability to work independently, respond to unforeseen challenges, and navigate institutional work practices and regulations
Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable
Recognized professional certification in digital learning design is desirable
Specific Higher Education digital learning designer experience is desirable
Working knowledge of broader university operations is desirable
Direct experience with Moodle is desirable
