About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape and lead the Students’ Association communications, digital engagement and brand activity
  • Develop a clear and consistent approach based on the Association’s rebrand
  • Raise awareness, strengthen the Association’s identity and demonstrate its impact for students
  • Lead development and delivery of student-focused communications and digital content across projects, campaigns, services and Officer manifesto priorities
  • Translate stakeholder priorities into engaging communications and impactful digital assets
  • Develop processes for communication and design requests, briefing, project management support and forward planning
  • Horizon scan relevant media and sector developments, identifying opportunities and issues affecting the Association and students
  • Oversee the Association’s marketing systems and digital platforms
  • Manage external contractors and suppliers where appropriate
  • Work across the University and with the wider Marketing community

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant degree, professional qualification or significant equivalent experience in communications, marketing, digital or a related field
  • Proven professional experience in a communications, marketing, digital or similar role
  • Experience developing and delivering effective marketing or communications projects and plans
  • Experience creating and delivering engaging digital and/or print content for defined target audiences
  • Experience in design, copywriting or digital communications
  • Good understanding of design tools used to create and produce digital and print materials
  • Experience managing communications systems, digital platforms or content management systems
  • Proven experience proofreading and editing copy, reports and other communications materials to a high standard
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience extracting, analysing and presenting data from systems or other relevant sources
  • Experience organising and planning meetings
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines
  • Demonstrable understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision and values of a Students’ Association, aligned with Arden University’s SPARK ethos
  • Experience of working within a membership led or volunteer organisation (desirable)
  • Understanding of HE issues affecting HE students (desirable)
  • Experience of drafting reports (desirable)
