Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a diverse portfolio of Academic Services critical to students, academics and academic operations
Bring Academic Resourcing and Timetabling, Careers and Employability, Employer Engagement, Library and Learning Success, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Academic Excellence into a coherent, high-performing service model
Work with Deans, Campus Academic Directors and senior professional services colleagues to integrate Academic Services
Enable excellent academic delivery, support student success and improve graduate outcomes
Use evidence, insight and performance measures to drive continuous improvement and enhance efficiency
Align services with institutional priorities
Lead large-scale improvement initiatives
Strengthen institutional capability and champion student-centred service design
Ensure services deliver measurable impact for students and colleagues
Report to the Provost / Chief Academic Officer

What you’ll need

Significant senior leadership experience in a complex higher education or similarly sophisticated environment
Track record of delivering operational excellence, organisational improvement and strategic change
Experience leading multiple service areas
Experience driving performance through clear accountability frameworks
Experience using data and insight to inform decision-making and improvement
Ability to operate at strategic and operational levels
Ability to work effectively with senior academic and professional services leaders
Experience of large-scale service transformation, workforce planning, performance improvement, digital innovation or complex operational leadership would be particularly valuable
Right to work in the UK or eligibility for an alternative visa route
