About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the academic design of assigned modules
Align module design with learning outcomes, institutional strategy, and Arden’s Prepare, Engage, Demonstrate (PED) model
Contribute to Kick-off Meetings, Design Workshops, Sprints, and Sign-Off stages
Develop and co-create pedagogically sound online lessons
Integrate interactive and multimedia-rich elements into learning content
Design authentic, inclusive, and feedback-focused assessment tasks
Manage progress proactively, meet deadlines, and flag risks or challenges early
Work with Academic Reviewers to ensure academic and pedagogical quality standards
Engage with training on digital skills, pedagogy, and emerging technologies
Support student continuation, engagement, and success in Arden’s distance learning environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Only applicants based in the UK are eligible to apply
Experience designing or delivering online/blended learning modules or activities
Ability to create engaging, structured, and learner-centred experiences
Proficiency in or enthusiasm to learn Moodle, Padlet, Mentimeter, and H5P
Understanding of assessment practices that support feedback and student success
Familiarity with inclusive and accessible design principles, e.g. WCAG 2.2
Experience with flipped classroom, constructivist, or active learning pedagogies is desirable
Strong written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in agile, sprint-based processes
Must hold a recognised teaching qualification
Minimum of 2–3 professional expertise areas, including relevant engineering subjects such as Simulating Material Behaviour, Computer Aided Design and Design Practice, Advanced Design Simulation and Material Performance, Thinking in Systems: AI Enhanced Design, Engineering Analytics and Intelligent Decisions, Materials and Manufacturing, Applied Simulation and Digital Prototyping, or Sustainable Design and Lifecycle Engineering
