About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Respond to customer product inquiries by telephone or written internet-based email
- Resolve customer concerns arising during installation, operation, maintenance, product application, or compatibility matters
- Troubleshoot hardware equipment and software applications and recommend corrective action
- Document customer communication and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development
- Support all Arista products and network protocols and features covered by EOS
- Work directly with customers and, when needed, software and hardware development teams
- Recreate issues in a dedicated lab environment
- Collaborate with Customer Engineering and Software and Hardware development teams to diagnose and communicate problems in multiple technical contexts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 1–5 years hands-on experience in designing, deploying, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, debugging, or administering network protocols and technologies
- Working knowledge of the networking industry, products, and protocols
- Experience with AAA/TACACS, ACL, ARP, BGP, DHCP, Ethernet, Flow Control, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4/IPv6, LACP, LLDP, MPLS, NAT, OpenFlow, OSPF, PIM, QoS, RIP, sFlow, SNMP, STP/RSTP/MST, VARP/VRRP, VLAN, and VRF
- Experience with troubleshooting tools such as IXIA, tcpdump, and Wireshark or similar tools highly desired
- Strong comfort level with Linux highly desired
- Familiarity with C++, Java, Python, Perl, JavaScript, or shell scripting is a plus
- Strong analytical and triage abilities
- High aptitude for learning and teaching
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative approach
- Minimum education is an MS in a technical field; CS/EE/ITP preferred
- Industry certifications preferred
- Prior TAC experience preferred
