About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as a legal advisor for the Aristocrat Interactive business, supporting commercial Interactive issues primarily across the Content and Aggregation business
Provide assistance for diverse general commercial issues, including management of commercial transactions
Provide timely legal services, including analyzing, researching, reviewing, interpreting, resolving disputes, drafting, and leading negotiations
Lead or assist with assessing proposed transactions and developing deal structures to minimize legal and business risks
Interpret and advise business units concerning applicable laws and regulations
Collaborate with IT, real estate, finance and procurement to support strategic goals
Build and deliver cross-channel educational presentations and tools about relevant legal issues
Work on special projects requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors
Support Aristocrat’s and the Legal Team’s 2030 strategy
Deliver solution-focused legal services while managing cash flow and achieving budget targets
Provide sustainability advice and counsel while ensuring initiatives meet legal requirements and advance Aristocrat’s reputation
Manage external counsel resources
Encourage a culture of compliance and responsible corporate behavior
Consistently demonstrate Legal Team values and develop leadership, risk and compliance management, and future-planning strengths

Requirements

What you’ll need

A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
Member in good standing with a State Bar
10+ years minimum experience as a commercial attorney with a law firm, corporation, or both
Experience in online real money gaming content, aggregation and technology preferred
Experience with North America, EMEA, APAC and other international regions preferred
Capability to work independently and collaboratively with other groups
Ability to influence and establish effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
Ability to manage competing priorities and simultaneously drive numerous projects
Ability to identify and resolve business issues and earn the confidence of executive business partners
Excellent interpersonal, communication, drafting and negotiation skills
Outstanding business judgment and analytical skills
Experience handling all aspects of commercial contracts
Comfort and familiarity with existing and emerging technology
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting emphasizing data-driven outcomes
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations
Ability to recognize standards required by a regulated business
Attendance in the office a minimum of 3 days a week in accordance with the hybrid working policy
