About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead tax advisory activities across Australia, New Zealand, Macau, the Philippines, Singapore, and the broader Asia Pacific region
- Support global and cross-border international tax advisory matters across the Group
- Provide tax advice on business initiatives, restructures, new market entry, and cross-border intercompany transactions
- Support M&A activity, divestments, and post-acquisition integration in the region
- Contribute to broader international tax projects and initiatives
- Support capital management initiatives, including dividends, capital returns, and intercompany funding arrangements
- Collaborate with team members in the US and EMEA on transfer pricing policies and practices
- Assist the Senior Director in advancing business growth and corporate projects
- Act as the primary tax expert for the APAC region
- Ensure alignment of tax advice with compliance obligations
- Monitor regional tax law and regulatory changes and communicate impacts and recommendations
- Support regional finance teams with tax audits, reviews, inquiries, and responses to tax authorities; lead these activities in Australia and New Zealand
- Manage relationships with external advisers, auditors, and tax authorities across APAC
- Lead, develop, and mentor team members
- Set priorities, drive high performance, and foster continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
- Experience with new market entries
- Experience maintaining strong relationships with diverse finance teams
- Expertise in international tax and transfer pricing
- Technical guidance and interpretation of tax legislation
- Knowledge of corporate transactions, restructures, cross-border intercompany transactions, divestments, and post-acquisition integration
- Experience supporting capital management initiatives, including dividends, capital returns, and intercompany funding arrangements
- Ability to monitor and assess changes in regional tax laws and regulations
- Experience managing tax audits, reviews, inquiries, and responses to tax authorities
- Experience managing relationships with external advisers, auditors, and tax authorities
- Ability to lead, develop, and mentor team members
- Tax technical skills and commercial acumen in the technology sector
