About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build, develop, and own comprehensive, risk-based test plans for complex features and system integrations
- Identify potential quality issues and risks in requirements and architecture and provide constructive feedback
- Define manual, automated, performance, and security testing scope across client and server
- Complete complex manual and automated full-stack tests
- Analyze test results and identify root causes of defects
- Manage the full defect lifecycle and ensure high-quality reporting and timely resolution of critical integration issues
- Establish and report key quality metrics and provide product health visibility to collaborators
- Use testing tools and systems including bug tracking, test case management, and SQL
- Contribute to test automation frameworks for API and client-side testing
- Mentor QA engineers on end-to-end testing, problem-solving, and career growth
- Partner with developers and product managers on requirements and quality expectations
- Promote a quality-first culture, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and quality discussions
- Improve cross-functional testing processes and tooling
- Coordinate with offshore testers and work closely with the other Lead QA
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional experience in QA
- Proven track record of testing complex, distributed systems
- Expert understanding of SDLC, QA methodologies, and testing approaches including closed system, grey box, and integration testing
- Skilled in RESTful API testing
- SQL/database fundamentals
- Client-side testing experience
- Ability to analyze complex systems, identify risks, and make pragmatic decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient communication skills
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly, influence collaborators, and lead quality initiatives
- Demonstrated continuous learning and proactive improvement of personal and team skills
- Experience working in the gaming industry is nice to have
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins is nice to have
- Experience with performance and load testing tools is nice to have
- Proficiency with monitoring and analytics tools such as New Relic and Redash is nice to have
