About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support social work students seeking internship placement at BSW/MSW levels
- Develop, coordinate, conduct and mentor new Practicum Coordinators through on-the-job training
- Provide support to the Practicum Manager, staff, and students
- Maintain accurate internship placement information in data management systems and multimedia
- Provide direct student services for field concerns, mediation, and problem resolution
- Carry student and liaison caseloads
- Attend faculty and community meetings on behalf of the Practicum Manager
- Provide and update practicum information for SWG 540
- Lead workgroups and projects for system improvements
- Develop and deliver in-person and online presentations, orientations, workshops, and training
- Conduct quality assurance audits and track grades, placements, agreements, caseloads, and student documents
- Provide technical guidance based on students’ academic standing and specialization
- Expand practicum placement opportunities and build relationships with community service agencies
- Coordinate Student Placement Agreements with ASU colleges and community agencies
- Recruit and visit agencies for the Practicum Education Program
- Monitor and evaluate practicum processes, agency connections, affiliation agreements, and student engagement
- Participate in faculty committees and represent practicum education needs
- Authorize placement changes in collaboration with students, liaisons, instructors, and the Practicum Manager
- Maintain student database records and create reports
- Participate in data entry, data analysis, podcasts, and navigation videos
- Assist with accreditation reviews and facilitate workshops, meetings, and seminars
- Implement curriculum goals and objectives and recommend revised program policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
- Master's of Social Work from an accredited university (desired)
- At least 2 years of post-graduate experience (desired)
- Experience working with multimedia sources and students in an academic environment
- Knowledge of the School of Social Work’s academic requirements
- Knowledge of Practicum Education policies and requirements
- Experience with Adobe Presenter and related media
- Experience with website development and monitoring
- Experience working with YouTube-related media for podcasts
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and problem resolution
- Experience working independently and meeting project timelines
- Effective communication skills
- Experience analyzing complex problems
- Experience creating and updating website pages, including copying and loading images
- Ability to work on-site at the Phoenix Downtown campus
- Ability to perform frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
- Driving is not required
