  • Own and evolve HTTP and event-driven contracts between services and client applications, including API versioning, payload design, compatibility, and coordinated delivery
  • Design durable integrations with University platforms and third-party services, accounting for availability, data consistency, retries, idempotency, auditability, and operational failure modes
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, architects, institutional stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate learner needs and organizational goals into technical solutions
  • Lead technical planning and architectural discussions covering scope, integrations, risks, dependencies, and implementation approaches
  • Establish and promote practices for architecture, code quality, test-driven development, documentation, observability, security, accessibility, and production support
  • Ensure appropriate handling of student academic records and sensitive information under ASU data-governance requirements, security policies, and FERPA obligations
  • Maintain technical documentation, including domain glossaries, architecture decision records, API contracts, operational runbooks, and repository guidance
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical direction in a collaborative, inclusive, agile environment
  • Maintain technical currency, pursue professional development, and contribute to the broader ASU information technology and engineering community
  • Define responsible approaches for building and operating AI-powered and multimodal applications
