About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform professional accounting functions supporting university partnerships
- Conduct data analysis to support university initiatives
- Ensure accounting accuracy and required reporting
- Oversee and review the work of lower-level accounting staff
- Develop and prepare reports based on query results from University Data Warehouse tables
- Research, analyze, and use independent judgment on daily and non-routine decisions affecting third-party groups and departments
- Advise administrative management on procedures and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with university departments to provide data for partnership reporting needs
- Develop understanding of the university student billing system to research discrepancies and perform complex reconciliations
- Work in an environmentally controlled office setting involving extended sitting, keyboarding, and computer mouse use; occasional physical activities include bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar student account information systems, with query and reporting experience
- Experience preparing detailed and complex reports using data warehouse/storage and retrieval systems such as Microsoft Access or other query software
- Experience in a university setting and/or familiarity with federal regulations pertaining to student information
- Experience with Workday Accounting or other online accounting systems
- Eligible to work in the United States; ASU Student Business Services will not sponsor this position
- Successful completion of criminal background and fingerprint checks
