About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with the Faculty Director to develop the strategy, administration, and ongoing success of the Sports Business Program Corporate Advisory Board
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain advisory board members aligned with organizational priorities and strategic growth
  • Develop and execute board engagement strategies, including meeting planning, communications, and member recognition
  • Cultivate relationships with executive leadership, board members, and external stakeholders
  • Lead full lifecycle planning and execution of Sports Business Program and Department of Marketing events
  • Develop project timelines, manage logistics, and ensure seamless on-site event execution
  • Serve as primary on-site event lead, managing setup, vendors, registration, and real-time troubleshooting
  • Assist with sponsorship and membership invoices
  • Develop and implement integrated social media strategies to increase program visibility, engagement, and reputation
  • Oversee social media planning, content strategy, and platform maintenance
  • Support marketing and promotional efforts, including website updates, social media coordination, and event materials
  • Coordinate group travel for Sports Business program activities
  • Improve program processes and participant experience
  • Maintain organized records and reporting systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field, including two (2) years of managerial experience; OR equivalent combination of experience and/or training
  • 3+ years of sports business-related experience with strong sports industry connections
  • 3+ years of marketing-related expertise
  • Experience collaborating with corporate clients, sponsors, and internal and external stakeholders
  • 2+ years developing and executing complex, multi-stakeholder events
  • Experience creating event marketing materials and digital communications, including social media strategies and content
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community members
  • Strong project management and logistical coordination skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and initiative in fast-paced environments
  • Expertise with event management, financial, marketing, or CRM systems preferred, including Workday, Concur, Stova, Canva, Adobe, Google Forms, or Qualtrics
  • Successful completion of criminal background and fingerprint checks
  • Driving is not required
