About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead startup and commissioning of Armstrong equipment, including Variable Frequency Drives and Control Panels
- Diagnose and repair issues with pumps, automated valves, and other equipment
- Document field service work through the online portal
- Provide on-site training to operators
- Share field service insights with the After Sales team
- Build client relationships, demonstrate product value, and identify additional sales opportunities
- Travel within the Western region and occasionally to other parts of the USA
- Handle service requests, complaints, and startup inquiries by phone and email
- Schedule and manage service visits
- Provide after-hours support for urgent service issues
- Train service and installation teams and mechanical contractors on Armstrong products
- Compile and review field reports for equipment performance and warranty adherence
- Assist with connecting site equipment to the Internet or customer networks
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams on product development and project-specific initiatives
- Identify and report product issues and contribute to process and design improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree or designation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Engineering, or a related field, with equivalent practical experience
- Experience with drives, control panels, BAS systems, and automation
- Familiarity with serial communications is a plus
- Proven experience with mechanical pumps and HVAC systems
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong software skills
- Experience in commercial construction is desirable
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of hydronic HVAC systems, Variable Frequency Drives, automation, and Building Automation Controls is preferred
- Willingness to travel within the Western region up to 60% of the time, with occasional trips to other parts of the USA
- Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
