About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support planning and execution of up to two live CISA-hosted events per contract year and up to four livestreamed events
  • Develop agendas, coordinate speakers, draft invitations, and track RSVPs
  • Arrange event space and logistics
  • Draft communications materials, presentations, and graphics
  • Provide staffing support during events
  • Support development of cybersecurity and physical security toolkits for SLTT stakeholders
  • Assist with research and analysis on SLTT cybersecurity volunteer program best practices and awareness of CISA resources
  • Help develop outreach campaigns to share effective practices
  • Support the CISA Resilience Challenge through engagement activities, identifying noteworthy SLTT cybersecurity practices, drafting social media content, and organizing the public capstone event
  • Assist the Program Manager with monthly progress reports and other contract deliverables
  • Coordinate with CISA stakeholders and SLTT partners to ensure accurate, clear, and user-friendly communications products and events
  • Support compliance with Section 508 accessibility requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, event planning, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Currently holds, or is able to obtain, a DHS Fitness Determination/DHS Suitability
  • Experience developing communications materials and/or planning and executing events for a federal government client, preferably in a health or homeland security setting
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability/a Public Trust clearance
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and time management skills
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and work well with others
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically both written and orally
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to receive feedback from clients and implement changes quickly and effectively
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
