About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic leadership within Pharmaceutical Operations & Technologies
- Translate enterprise and functional strategy into an integrated portfolio of high-impact initiatives
- Lead strategic planning, annual operating plans, multi-year roadmaps, and investment priorities
- Establish and lead an integrated portfolio management framework for PO&T projects
- Oversee complex, cross-functional programs from business case development through implementation and benefits realization
- Establish governance structures, decision-making forums, performance metrics, and escalation mechanisms
- Monitor portfolio performance, milestones, dependencies, risks, financial commitments, and resource utilization
- Provide executive reporting, recommendations, presentations, portfolio reviews, and investment proposals
- Lead operational and technology transformation initiatives involving digital technologies, data, automation, analytics, and innovative operating models
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing strategy and portfolio management team
- Mentor project and program leaders and develop organizational talent
- Facilitate alignment across functions and resolve competing priorities, dependencies, and resource constraints
- Partner with Finance and functional leaders on business cases, budgets, investment proposals, and financial forecasts
- Optimize allocation of people, capital, technology, and external resources
- Ensure initiatives comply with pharmaceutical, regulatory, quality, compliance, cybersecurity, and corporate governance requirements
- Establish risk-management practices and escalate significant risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, life sciences, technology, operations, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, technology, operations, or a related industry
- Significant experience leading complex, enterprise-level programs and strategic initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in portfolio management, program management, operational strategy, or business transformation
- Proven ability to influence and lead across a complex, matrixed organization
- Experience presenting strategic recommendations and portfolio performance to senior executives
- Strong financial, analytical, organizational, and strategic-planning capabilities
- Experience establishing or maturing a Project Management Office (PMO) or Enterprise Portfolio Management function
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program/project management certification
- Experience with enterprise transformation, organizational change, or operating-model design
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, global, matrixed organization
