About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply advanced understanding of all plan types and facilitate complex interactions with Plan Consultants
- Read and interpret retirement plan provisions and related materials to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Apply IRS, DOL, and ERISA legislation and regulations when preparing, analyzing, and interpreting information
- Support DOL, IRS, and large-plan audits
- Support Plan Consultants in resolving operational and compliance issues for qualified plans
- Perform plan administration, compliance, and testing for assigned blocks of business
- Track job progress and required data to meet compliance deadlines
- Prepare annual valuation and compliance reports for clients
- Consult with Plan Consultants on plan documents, amendments, and other legal documents
- Complete assigned quality assurance reviews
- Protect and properly handle confidential Ascensus and client data
- Support the organization’s service philosophy and core values
- Assist with other assigned tasks and projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3–5 years of prior ERISA experience in the retirement industry preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in analysis of financial data required
- Strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize, manage tasks, and meet business-operation and ERISA-compliance requirements
- Retirement Plan Fundamentals certification upon meeting eligibility requirements
- QKA designation preferred
- Involvement or work towards associates QPA designation preferred
- Prior experience with plan administration software, such as Relius
