About the role

  • Own team effectiveness and success
  • Establish cross-training to ensure availability of Security Operations functions
  • Monitor security events from all tool sources
  • Analyze events and filter false positives
  • Handle incident response processes and escalate events
  • Enhance and build security processes and procedures
  • Maintain documented monitoring and response processes
  • Collaborate with information security, IT, risk and governance, and facilities teams
  • Report security operations metrics quarterly
  • Process phishing email escalations and correlate events with known social-engineering attempts
  • Build, manage, and maintain security solutions and tools
  • Maintain tool documentation and champion effective use of information-security tools
  • Review access requests involving content filtering, removable media, and exceptions
  • Collaborate with technology teams to accomplish security objectives
  • Assess and select security vendors or solutions
  • Identify emerging vulnerabilities and evaluate associated risks
  • Assist with corporate incident-response events
  • Perform security testing, including vulnerability scans and aspects of ethical hacking/penetration testing
  • Conduct detailed configuration reviews
  • Protect, secure, and properly handle confidential Ascensus and client data
  • Assist with other assigned tasks and projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Information Security or Security Operations
  • Experience managing security tools including IAM, IPS, SIEM, Web Application Firewall, anti-virus/malware and endpoint protection, CASB, UBA, DLP, web proxy/content filtering, vulnerability management, file integrity monitoring, and NAC
  • Experience with monitoring, detecting, and responding activities
  • Knowledge of information security risks, including technical aspects and remediation
  • Knowledge of networking preferred
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree plus equivalent work experience required
  • CISSP certification preferred
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate associates
  • Ability to objectively review team work, implement enhancements, and monitor quality
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized; able to manage inventories of controls and findings
  • Excellent analytical and problem-resolution skills
  • Self-starter able to work independently
  • Persistence and strength to champion initiatives
