About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide hands-on technical support and system administration across multiple client environments
- Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, user accounts, licensing, access, and endpoint/device administration
- Support and troubleshoot Windows endpoints, applications, peripherals, and common network/connectivity issues
- Support Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization, and hybrid environments where applicable
- Monitor and respond to technical issues and security alerts across endpoint, identity, email, and related security platforms
- Support endpoint security, access controls, patching, software deployment, and security configurations
- Monitor backup and disaster recovery systems, investigate routine failures, and support scheduled restore and recovery-validation activities
- Support client onboarding, offboarding, environment discovery, implementation, and technical projects
- Communicate directly with client users and stakeholders regarding technical issues and assigned projects
- Use ticketing or PSA systems to track, document, and resolve incidents and service requests
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, system records, inventories, diagrams, and knowledge articles
- Use and progressively develop PowerShell or other automation tools to improve IT operations
- Troubleshoot issues methodically, identify root causes, and take ownership through resolution
- Escalate complex or higher-risk issues appropriately with clear diagnostics and supporting evidence
- Coordinate with senior engineers, security teams, vendors, and service providers when required
- Support other IT operational requirements and projects as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, system administration, system engineering, or a similar role
- Helpdesk experience, internships, OJT, or relevant lab experience can be considered
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows environments, endpoints, applications, peripherals, and common technical issues
- Strong foundational knowledge of networking and methodical troubleshooting ability
- Working familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience or practical exposure to Entra ID, Exchange Online, and endpoint/device administration
- Basic PowerShell familiarity; able to safely read and run basic scripts
- Willingness and aptitude to learn to modify and develop scripts
- Good written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users
- Comfortable supporting US-based clients and explaining technical issues clearly
- Managed IT, IT outsourcing, service desk, or multi-client experience preferred
- Experience with RMM, MDM, endpoint security/EDR, PSA/ticketing, remote support, backup, or disaster recovery platforms beneficial
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization, or hybrid cloud/on-premises environments preferred
- Exposure to endpoint security, identity and access management, backup and disaster recovery, or cybersecurity operations preferred
- Experience with Google Workspace or other productivity platforms advantageous
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or relevant Microsoft certifications beneficial
- Experience working with vendors, ISPs, carriers, cloud providers, or technology partners advantageous
- Exposure to regulated or security-conscious environments is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field helpful but not required
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to investigate issues, test assumptions, and identify root causes
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities across different client environments
- Understands when to resolve issues independently and when to escalate
- Detail-oriented and consistent with documentation, procedures, and change-control requirements
- Comfortable learning new technologies and adapting to different client environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with senior engineering staff
- Reliable internet connection and suitable remote-work environment required for work-from-home days
