About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Spend time weekly in venues with operators, chefs, floor staff and head office teams to understand how work is done
  • Turn customer discovery into one-page specifications with the problem, measurable outcome and venue value in dollars
  • Prioritise with the Head of Product Engineering & AI and drop work that will not improve adoption or revenue
  • Prototype solutions with AI coding and design tools such as Claude Code, Cursor and Lovable
  • Write evals, test sets and acceptance criteria for AI features such as voice booking, demand forecasting and anomaly detection
  • Work with engineers through build, testing and release, owning edge cases, data quality and cross-device experience
  • Design for an API- and MCP-first platform so partners and agents can act on H&L data and forecasts
  • Own the end-to-end delivery system, including pod and sprint rituals, showcases, release notes, eval reviews and agent change logs
  • Configure and own Jira or the selected delivery tool, including hierarchy, workflows, dashboards and leadership roadmap
  • Run the weekly feedback loop from support tickets, pilot feedback and sales requests into the backlog
  • Automate status updates, release notes, meeting summaries and backlog hygiene with agents
  • Run launches end to end, including positioning, demos, pricing pages, onboarding guides and release communications
  • Recruit and run design-partner pilots, convert pilots to first paying venues and provide Sales with a repeatable pitch
  • Measure adoption and revenue after launch and report weekly with the next action
  • Within the first 90 days, ship a prototype into a live venue, write and release an AI eval set, run a launch that wins a first paying venue, and establish Jira delivery rituals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in computer science, engineering or data science, or equivalent demonstrated by what you have built
  • Up to three years in product, engineering, data, consulting or a startup is preferred; strong graduates considered
  • Built and shipped something real, such as a product, startup, open-source project or hackathon entry, and able to demonstrate it
  • Hospitality experience counts strongly in your favour but is not required
  • Ability to write code in Python or TypeScript
  • Ability to query data in SQL
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Comfortable with cloud basics on AWS or equivalent
  • Ability to configure a delivery tool such as Jira or Linear from scratch, including roadmap and leadership reports

  • Understanding of large language models, prompts, tool use, retrieval and agents
  • Ability to test AI systems with evals
  • Ability to ask customers the right questions and turn answers into decisions
  • Ability to size value in dollars and make evidence-based trade-offs
  • Understanding of how software and payments businesses make money
  • Clear, brief writing; specs, demos and messages require no rework
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including reconciling numbers, covering edge cases and clean releases
  • Strong, well-argued view on the direction of hospitality and software, with willingness to change it when evidence changes
