About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Automate regression across the platform during the first months of the role
Report to the QA Manager and work within the QA team
Build and evolve an AI-augmented automation framework using Claude Code and Playwright MCP
Develop automated regression coverage across web, API, and mobile surfaces
Structure maintainable test architecture using page object models, stable selectors, environment-aware configuration, and separated smoke, regression, and integration suites
Integrate Postman collections into CI/CD for API coverage, including Sadie, iPOS, and email integration endpoints
Migrate and consolidate Selenium and Datadog-based automation into the target toolchain
Manage test case organisation and coverage tracking in Testomat.io
Use AI tools for test generation, coverage analysis, gap identification, test data generation, selector maintenance, and failure triage
Develop custom Claude skills for consistent, self-healing, resilient test execution
Contribute to standards for AI-assisted QA and validate generated test logic
Integrate automation into GitLab CI/CD pipelines for pre-merge and post-deploy execution
Align automation coverage with the manual Testomat.io suite and avoid duplication
Contribute to the Shape Up delivery rhythm through scoped pitches, fixed cycles, and defined deliverables
Proactively identify flaky tests, coverage gaps, and reliability issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong scripting ability in JavaScript or TypeScript, with the depth to write maintainable, structured automation rather than brittle scripts
AI tooling mastery, with hands on experience with Claude Code CLI, MCP servers or similar LLM-driven development tools
Demonstrated prompt engineering skills with a proven ability to write, version and optimise LLM prompts and structured Claude skills, along with the critical judgement to review and validate AI-generated output
Hands-on Playwright experience across browser automation, including page object model patterns, environment configuration, and CI integration
Postman experience for API test authoring and collection-based pipeline integration
Demonstrated use of AI coding tools (Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) in a testing context, with the critical judgement to review and validate AI-generated output
Experience integrating automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines or equivalent tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
Hands-on experience automating mobile app testing, including React Native or equivalent cross-platform frameworks, covering UI flows, device/emulator configuration, and integration with CI pipelines
Ability to read and understand application code sufficiently to write tests against it, trace failures to root causes, and identify testable boundaries
Experience working in a multi-surface environment covering web frontend, REST APIs, and mobile
Highly desirable: Testomat.io experience for test management, coverage mapping, and CI integration
Highly desirable: Familiarity with Selenium and ability to assess and migrate existing Selenium-based suites
Highly desirable: Experience with React-based frontends and understanding of component-level testability
Highly desirable: Exposure to React Native or mobile automation frameworks such as Detox, Appium, or Maestro
Highly desirable: Familiarity with Linear for work tracking and Notion for documentation
Highly desirable: Prior experience in a SaaS or platform engineering environment where test reliability directly affects release confidence
