Own features from problem definition through production, including implementation, testing, release, and follow-up
Develop backend services, APIs, data models, and user interfaces across the full stack
Improve security, performance, data integrity, and maintainability
Translate complex retail processes into intuitive, efficient user journeys
Build AI-powered agents using RetailVista data and APIs to complete business tasks
Collaborate with product and commercial colleagues on customer value, adoption, usage metering, and running costs
Apply AI-assisted and agentic workflows to investigation, prototyping, development, refactoring, testing, and documentation
Improve established code, contribute code reviews, and share knowledge
Work with development, support, and implementation colleagues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong affinity with the Microsoft development ecosystem, particularly C#/.NET and SQL Server
Substantial experience delivering and maintaining production software
Solid command of backend development, APIs, and relational databases
Comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a modern frontend framework
Able to improve established systems and build new ones
Experience using AI development tools and agentic workflows
Ability to review and test AI-generated code and identify incorrect assumptions, security issues, and unnecessary complexity
Responsible handling of source code, credentials, and customer information when using AI tools
Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications and connecting models to business data, tools, and APIs
Understanding of when agents are useful versus conventional software
Ability to design for permissions, tenant isolation, usage limits, audit trails, human approval, model cost, and response time
Strong UI/UX judgment, including accessibility, responsiveness, validation, feedback, and loading, empty, and error states
Ability to validate requirements, assumptions, acceptance criteria, edge cases, permissions, failure scenarios, and regression risks
Ability to organize work independently, make decisions, involve colleagues, and escalate appropriately
Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues
Valuable additional experience in retail, ERP, POS, business-critical software, automated testing, CI/CD, incremental modernization, or introducing AI development practices
