Approach donor families and obtain and maintain consent to optimize organ donation
Provide donor family care through the Donor Family Services Program
Apply best practices in consent conversations and donor family care
Participate in and coordinate education for internal and external stakeholders
Participate in quality improvement and quality assurance and maintain regulatory standards
Provide support during times of crisis and maintain self-resilience
Support family follow-up, after-action reviews, and correspondence
Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with colleagues and donor service area partners

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree with focus on communication, human behavior, and social experience, such as Counseling, Social Work, Social Science, Chaplaincy, Psychology, Education or other relevant fields Required
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
2 years of experience in family support experience such as counseling, social work, hospice, palliative care, or education Required
Experience with organ donation, transplantation or work within a health-care related field preferred
Experience with grief support preferred
Current, valid driver's license issued by the individual's state of residence required upon hire
Must be at least 21 years old or have a minimum of three years of driving experience to operate specified vehicles
Ability to work day/evening/night shifts, cover on call three days a week, and complete an additional eight hours of office time
