About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages
- Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling
- Complete specimen receiving and specimen processing
- Check in patients and enter laboratory test orders in the laboratory information system
- Travel locally to visit patients in their homes as part of home-based care
- Work from UW Health Administrative Building when office-based, located at 301 S. Westfield Rd, Madison, WI
Requirements
What you’ll need- Full-time, 100% FTE, day shift
- Monday–Friday availability between 7:00am–3:30pm, with weekend rotation required
- Hours may vary based on operational needs
- Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages
- Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling
- Complete specimen receiving and specimen processing
- Patient check-in and laboratory test order entry in the laboratory information system
- No minimum education required
- Current, valid driver’s license issued by the individual’s state of residence
- At least 21 years old
- Minimum of three years of driving experience to operate a personal, patient/visitor, or UW Health fleet vehicle
- Basic Life Support/CPR certification within 3 months of hire required
