About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Function as a liaison between clinicians and coders
  • Serve as an expert source regarding the impact of documentation on patient care, quality outcome measures, risk of mortality/severity of illness indicators, and accurate reimbursement
  • Conduct concurrent review of inpatient medical records under the direction of the Clinical Documentation Integrity Supervisor
  • Seek clarification of documentation before the patient is discharged

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree in Registered Nursing required
  • 3 years of nursing, case management, utilization review, or quality resources experience in an acute care setting required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin or a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact upon hire required
  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • 3 years of Clinical Documentation Integrity experience highly desirable
  • 5 years of nursing, case management, utilization review, or quality resources experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist preferred
  • Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner preferred
