About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide nursing care in Medical Oncology Clinics
- Care for patients undergoing chemotherapy, blood transfusions, bone marrow transplants, CAR-T cell therapy, and other supportive treatments
- Perform targeted patient assessments during in-person visits, telephone triage, and through the online patient portal
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and support them throughout their cancer journey
- Work collaboratively with compassionate oncology nursing teams
- Work at University Hospital and Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, Wisconsin
- Work Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with no weekends, nights, or holidays; hours based on department operational needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of school of nursing
- 6 months of RN experience
- Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact upon hire
- Current CPR/BLS certification upon hire
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Relevant inpatient RN experience preferred
- Ambulatory experience preferred
- Relevant oncology experience preferred
- Chemotherapy experience preferred
- Experience with Venous Access Devices (VADs) and IV skills preferred
- Certification in specialty area of practice preferred
