About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the East Coast territory in the United States, with national and global responsibilities
  • Work with security specification writers, Pedestal PRO OEM partners, targeted end-users, integrators, and contracted independent representatives to create new sales opportunities
  • Deliver regular product and capabilities presentations through scheduled meetings, in-person meetings, and webinars
  • Identify regional, national, and global opportunities and create part numbers or Strategic Standardizations for end-users
  • Educate A&E and security consultant communities about Pedestal PRO solutions
  • Drive new Pedestal PRO specifications and convert competitive positions
  • Apply a relational and technical sales approach to selling Pedestal PRO solutions
  • Participate in territory industry association events, trade shows, product demonstrations, and webinars
  • Report new business development, opportunity progress, territory outlook, specifications, pipeline, and competitive forces to the Senior Director of Sales
  • Conduct joint sales calls with OEM partners, enterprise salespeople, national accounts, and systems integrators
  • Engage with security specification writers, targeted end-users, independent representatives, distribution partners, and integrators
  • Identify showrooms and customer experience centers for equipping with Pedestal PRO solutions
  • Travel within the assigned region and attend regional and national industry events
  • Operate without supervisory responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of five (5) years outside sales experience / territory management, or three (3) years with a related bachelor’s degree
  • Strong background within access control, intercom, or security industries
  • Must reside within the assigned territory
  • Ideal candidate resides in or is willing to relocate to the East Coast
  • Comfortable presenting and selling in person or via webinar
  • Working knowledge and existing relationships with access control manufacturers, integrators, consultants, A&E firms, and end-users desired
  • “Hunter” rather than “Farmer” sales approach required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite products
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business, professional, technical, and governmental materials in English
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions effectively
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, sales software, Internet, email, manufacturing, and database software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform physical duties including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and occasionally lifting 35 pounds
