Business Development Representative

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Generate sustainable growth throughout the region by shaping demand across customers and partners
- Promote and sell ASSA ABLOY brands, focusing on emerging technologies
- Oversee smart solutions sales within Central Ontario
- Drive brand awareness among developers, end users and other regional influencers
- Establish relationships with existing customers and develop pathways to new customers
- Create account relationship plans and business plans for each account
- Identify new product and business opportunities based on customer needs
- Create sales for assigned accounts exceeding budget plans
- Produce and follow up on quotations and leads
- Conduct frequent sales presentations
- Assist management in developing sales direction and market strategy
- Monitor competitor activity and formulate and communicate response strategies
- Respond to customer needs and resolve issues or concerns
- Provide one-on-one or group training
- Attend trade shows and travel
- Use Salesforce CRM to manage pipeline activity, customer interactions and forecasting
- Collaborate with team members, end users and specification stakeholders
- Complete other assigned projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Five (5) years sales experience, preferably in the door security or related industry
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Experience selling opening solutions as a consultant
- Excellent planning, selling, marketing, contract management, decision-making and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation skills and sales leadership qualities
- Experience building business relationships with customers
- Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to analyze and identify sales opportunities, troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
- Ability to understand customers' issues/needs and translate them into an action plan
- Experience with smart solutions in multi-family and campus markets is a definite asset
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of sample and display material
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory up to 90% of the time
- Ability to travel across Canada and occasionally into the U.S. for training and trade shows
- Valid driver's license in good standing
