Key responsibilities & impact

Procure custom components, raw materials, capital equipment, supplies, and operational services for manufacturing
Interpret production schedules and determine material requirements
Generate and track purchase orders through Epicor MRP
Balance safe stock limits with inventory-turn objectives
Establish, audit, and optimize planning architecture, supplier records, and inventory replenishment variables in Epicor
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Accounting, Quality, and Sales on bills of materials, production costs, incoming material quality, and delivery expectations
Lead Lean initiatives to identify and eliminate stagnant, excess, or obsolete materials
Drive inventory reduction plans to improve free cash flow and capital utilization
Organize RFQ packages, source competitive bids, and audit supplier purchasing agreements
Support planning, validation, and physical audits during annual inventory cycles
Manage and report sourcing metrics, including inventory velocity, purchase price variance, and supplier performance

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5 years of progressive buyer experience managing highly specialized technical items, custom configurations, and lower-volume, long-lead supplier bases
Understanding of extended global supply chains, international trade regulations, logistics networks, and tariff management frameworks
Functional proficiency with ERP/MRP database software; Epicor platform exposure highly advantageous
Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel data compilation
Ability to operate across corporate offices and active fabrication floors
Superior organizational habits, self-prioritization, and emotional poise in an execution-critical, deadline-driven environment
Direct procurement knowledge or industrial market background sourcing raw steel or aluminum components preferred
Experience contracting custom complex fabrications, outsourced assemblies, or heavy industrial toll operations preferred
Familiarity with electronic components, hardware assemblies, or integrated control systems architectures preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Documented continuing professional education or degrees in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business valued
