About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical and administrative assistance to the Lead Product Design Engineer throughout product creation
- Create prototype parts using CNC machines, welding, and assembly equipment
- Create and maintain fabrication and assembly drawings, product MAPS, CAD models, and BOMs
- Review drawings for compliance with engineering standards
- Assist with on-site and field prototype testing, record results, and perform quality assurance checks
- Create test procedures and production test programs
- Maintain and update automated test equipment and programs
- Liaise between design engineering and production during manufacturing transitions
- Create work instructions, product manuals, and jigs for repair and production
- Support production to ensure products are built properly, efficiently, and to high quality standards
- Maintain revision logs and manufacturing documentation
- Create, manage, and close ECOs
- Provide technical support and training to internal customers
- Participate in engineering and design reviews
- Resolve production problems and perform failure analysis on test samples
- Assist with quality-control processes and manufacturing process improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma in engineering technology, relevant engineering certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience
- 3+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or electromechanical development, repair, or manufacturing
- Experience using various measuring instruments and shop tools
- Ability to use a personal computer with spreadsheet, word processing, database, and automated systems
- Advanced/intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint preferred
- Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D design software
- Experience with Altium or other PCB design software
- Experience with Linux, C/C++, and Python
