About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the on-site subject matter expert for recruiting, payroll, and broad human resources functions
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions from requisition approval through offer acceptance and onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, build candidate pipelines, improve time-to-fill, and deliver a positive candidate and onboarding experience
- Source, screen, and coordinate candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, networking, and other channels
- Guide candidate selection, compensation considerations, interviewing practices, and employment requirements
- Coordinate offers, background checks, drug screening, and other pre-employment processes
- Monitor recruiting metrics and recommend improvements
- Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain payroll records and data integrity in HRIS and payroll systems
- Review timesheets, wage computations, payroll information, and employee inquiries
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports and assist with W-2 preparation, audits, and reporting
- Manage HR programs covering talent development, performance management, employee relations, compensation, diversity, benefits, safety, and employee experience
- Provide counsel, coaching, and guidance to site leaders and employees
- Oversee safety initiatives, including reporting, investigations, claims, and countermeasures
- Foster a positive workplace culture and promote employee engagement, well-being, and morale
- Administer HRIS processes for onboarding, employee records, performance reviews, and succession planning
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement
- Assist with ISO-aligned practices and perform special projects as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience using applicant tracking systems, job boards, social media, employee referrals, and candidate sourcing tools
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience with HRIS systems such as SuccessFactors
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, or Workday
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English and present information and respond to questions in English
- Commitment to compliance and company values
- Ability to travel when needed
- Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including frequently sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, using hands, reaching, communicating clearly, and occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds
- Ability to work in office and shop environments and near moderate to loud noise, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and moving mechanical parts
