About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform service and installation according to manufacturers’ recommended procedures and specifications
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade sliding, swinging, and rotating doors
  • Perform planned maintenance, break-fix repairs, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electro-mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic
  • Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low-voltage wiring
  • Document time spent and problems, shortages, and inefficiencies in job-site conditions
  • Perform work safely to prevent accidents involving employees, co-workers, contractors, the public, and property
  • Maintain and use personal protective equipment when necessary
  • Communicate professionally with customers, end-users, and contractors
  • Participate in training programs
  • Participate in on-call rotations after certification and training
  • Deliver reliable automated door solutions and exceptional customer service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years’ experience of direct industry, storefront door installation, or relevant industry experience
  • Experience with storefronts, glazing, doors, aluminum frames, electrical systems, glass, automatic doors, and hardware
  • Minimum age of 21 due to job-related responsibilities
  • Must be able to successfully obtain AAADM certification within six months of employment and maintain certification as required
  • Must be able to successfully obtain AAADM certification within one year of employment and maintain certification as required
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience repairing electro-mechanical devices
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage 120V wiring
  • Access control systems experience is a plus
  • Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • High commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork
  • Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively
  • Ability to lift, position, and install door components weighing up to 110 pounds with lifting aids on an occasional basis
  • Ability to climb ladders, kneel, drive, and work in various positions as required
  • Ability to wear and maintain required personal protective equipment
