About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Direct the safe and efficient operation of the department
Perform simple production operations
Monitor and drive plant performance indicators
Align production priorities with production demand
Train and demonstrate safe, proper equipment setup and operation on mills
Manage and lead 10+ employees
Perform daily problem solving
Push projects through with dedication, quality, and consistency
Maintain a safe working environment conducive to productivity
Communicate production needs with other support groups
Work either first shift Monday–Thursday, 4:00am–2:30pm, or weekend shift Friday–Sunday, 5:00am–5:00pm; overtime as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school or equivalent
1+ years’ experience in tube mill and/or roll forming process functions
1 to 3 years involved with mill setups and manufacturing processes
Experience managing and leading 10+ employees at a time
Experience with special measuring devices, micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
Basic math and mechanical skills
Ability to train employees in the safe and proper operation of mill equipment
Flexibility with production hours
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to understand job terminology
Ability to follow dress code and written/verbal instructions
Ability to manage people, personalities, and challenges
Ability to meet negotiated timeframes and support customer demands
Ability to maintain a safe, productive working environment
Ability to think and react quickly to changing situations and priorities
Ability to communicate production needs with support groups
5-S training is a plus
Lean training is a plus
Travel required: 0%-10%
